The attacks have been relentless, friends.
It started early this year with leaders in the U.S. House pushing through an absurd “20-week abortion ban” with a slim partisan majority.
Then, anti-choice extremists began releasing heavily-edited videos designed to smear Planned Parenthood. And now, their allies in Congress are using the videos as an excuse to try to pass legislation to defund and effectively shut down Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood is an important health care provider for women in Northwest Oregon and around the country. They provide cancer screenings, prenatal care, contraception, and other family planning services to millions of people and help them stay healthy and make informed decisions about their reproductive health. The services they provide are especially important for low-income women and families.
These attacks on Planned Parenthood are really attacks on women and our right to make our own decisions about reproductive health care. I will keep fighting these attacks every step of the way.
