Bonamici Appointed to Education and the Workforce HELP Subcommittee, Departs Workforce Protections Subcommittee

Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) today announced that she has been selected to serve on the U.S. House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, & Pensions (HELP). She will depart the subcommittee on Workforce Protections, but remain on the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training.

“I look forward to working with members of the HELP subcommittee to protect and strengthen the employment and labor laws that are essential to well-being of Oregon’s working families,” said Bonamici.

A description of the HELP subcommittee jurisdiction follows:

The Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions has jurisdiction over all matters dealing with relationships between employers and employees including, but not limited to, the National Labor Relations Act, the Labor-Management Relations Act, and the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act; the Bureau of Labor Statistics; and employment-related health and retirement security including pension, health, and other employee benefits and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
