Sign the Petition: it's time to act on gun violence!

The statistics on gun violence in the United States are alarming.

There has been an average of nearly one school shooting every single week since 2013.

On average, 52 women are shot to death by an intimate partner every single month.

About 90 Americans die from gun violence every single day.

This needs to end. Congress’s inaction in the face of this gun violence epidemic is inexcusable.

Sign the Petition: tell Congress it’s time to act on gun violence!

The mass shooting at Umpqua Community College was shocking for Oregonians and people across our country and the world. The victims, families, and survivors have been in our thoughts and prayers – but thoughts and prayers are not enough. We can take action to prevent another tragedy, and it starts with ending the senseless lack of federally-funded research into the causes of gun violence.

We need to set aside our differences, look at the facts, and work on policies that will work to prevent gun violence. It’s time for Congress to establish a Select Committee on gun violence and take on this epidemic without delay.

Join me. Add your name. Let’s take action to end the gun violence epidemic!
