Holding us back

All of these abrasive personal insults we’re seeing from Republican Presidential candidates are mind boggling.

After a recent debate, a candidate said one of his rivals could not be President because he sweats too much!

But on top of the personal insults, it's the threats they make about serious issues like defunding Planned Parenthood, blocking commonsense legislation to reduce gun violence, and refusing to consider the next Supreme Court appointment, that are the hardest to understand.

This approach isn’t moving us forward; it’s holding us back.

I will never put empty and angry rhetoric over doing what's right. That’s a vow I made when I first ran for office – and I’ve stuck to it.

I’m focused on our nation’s future, and the examples we set for our children and grandchildren.

Some people think personal insults and shouting the loudest gets you support, but that’s not the kind of politics I want – and I don’t think you or most of our country want that either. Will you help me prove that we can do better than Trump-style politics?
