Health care is making history
March is Women’s History Month.
Women have been fighting for generations for an equal place in our society. From the right to vote to access to contraception, women have accomplished so much – and we can't afford to stop fighting now. The fight takes on new importance as the terrible new Trump/Ryan health care plan is being rushed through Congress. Not only is this a plan that benefits the wealthy, reduces access for low-income and rural Americans, weakens Medicare, and guts Medicaid – it’s a direct attack on women’s access to reproductive health care.
Their plan defunds Planned Parenthood.
Their plan prevents low-income women from using Medicaid to access reproductive health care.
Their plan prevents Americans from using tax credits to purchase private plans that cover abortion.
It’s dangerous and reckless to make it harder for women to access reproductive health care services – including contraception. Equal rights for women means the right to access safe, legal, abortion.
I’m strongly opposed to this Trump/Ryan health care plan, and I’m fighting back at every turn in Congress. Raise your voice if you’re with me!
