The March for Science is today!

Although I’m not a scientist, I serve on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, and I’m the top Democrat on the Environment Subcommittee. In that role, I’m working hard to fight the threat of climate change and move our country toward a clean energy economy.

Unfortunately, too many of my colleagues on the committee don’t agree with these priorities. What’s more, several won’t even admit that humans contribute to climate change!

It’s alarming that members of our Science Committee are skeptical about whether human activity contributes to climate change. We’re now dealing with politicians cherry-picking the results of scientific research for ideological reasons—and giving more credit to right-wing research on climate change than our country’s most renowned scientists. Science should be about data and evidence, not beliefs and ideology.

So how can we convince members of the Science Committee to listen to the facts? We can stand together and prove – once and for all – that Americans trust science!

The March for Science in Washington D.C. and around the country is an excellent way to celebrate Earth Day. Millions of Americans are celebrating our planet and standing up for science.

Thank you for standing with me.
