The Trump administration’s immigration policies are un-American – and we need to fight back.
As we work toward comprehensive and compassionate immigration reform, we must continue to protect the safety of our neighbors. Right now, communities are suffering from aggressive and mean-spirited ICE raids targeting immigrants in sensitive locations, including schools and hospitals.
That is why I introduced the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act in Congress. There are some places in our community that should be safe for everyone — regardless of their immigration status. Parents shouldn't be afraid to take their children to school or to the hospital when they're sick, and no one should be afraid to report a crime. This hurts our immigrant community and makes everyone less safe.
