Why I'm Running

Last Friday, I announced my 2018 re-election campaign.

Many people have asked me why I would want to serve in Congress now, when so much news from Washington, D.C. is about hateful rhetoric, rampant hypocrisy, and more scandals than we can count. It's certainly a challenging time for our country. But if I've learned anything over the past year, it's that now is the time to speak up, fight back, and stand up for what's right.

That's why I'm running.

I'm running because too many Oregon families are still struggling from paycheck to paycheck, and they're counting on us to create opportunities for good jobs, affordable child care, and health insurance that covers them when they're sick.

I'm running because all students should have access to quality, affordable public education. They deserve to feel safe and to be safe from the threat of gun violence.

I'm running because our planet and future generations are counting on us to address climate change now.

And I'm running because this November, we must put a check on the Trump administration by winning back the House. There are phenomenal candidates – many of them women– running across the country who, with our help and hard work, can win.

I'm running to continue building a better future for NW Oregonians. But I need you in this fight with me. Will you join my growing list of endorsers?

Your support means a lot to me. I am proud of our accomplishments during the past six years, but I know there is more we can do. I am energized and excited to keep fighting for Oregonians!

Thank you for standing with me,

Suzanne
