A closer look at Scott Pruitt
With an ever-growing list of offenses, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has to go. The American people — his employers — have had enough.
His policy agenda favors big polluters and reversing our progress on addressing global warming.
As Oklahoma's attorney general, he sued the EPA (the very office he now leads) 13 times. It's no surprise that he is working to reverse emission standards, increase off-shore drilling, and ravage the American landscape.
At the EPA, he's developed a long list of questionable uses of government funds:
- installing a $43,000 soundproof booth in his office;
- giving large raises to two close aides without White House approval;
- flying first class and on private carriers at taxpayer expense;
- demoting whistle-blowers in the agency;
- living in a condo owned by a lobbyist at well below market rate;
- demanding a security detail — even for personal trips to Disneyland and the Rose Bowl;
- and avoiding documentation of meetings and using phones other than his own to hide information.
In addition to being terrible on policy, Scott Pruitt has an ethics problem. I'm calling for his resignation or dismissal. It's time for him to go.
Thank you for standing with me,
