That's how many Oregon households would go hungry without the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

I wrote to you last week about the proposed cuts to this crucial program in the partisan Farm Bill. We stood together, spoke out, and defeated the Republican's attempt to limit nutrition benefits for those who need it. Now we need to raise our voices again. If we don't fight back, hundreds of thousands of Oregonians could face more hardship.

Republican leadership will try again to pass their latest Farm Bill, which includes the harmful SNAP cuts. Many SNAP recipients are seniors, children, veterans, and people with disabilities. It's immoral, and it's bad for our communities and economy. But most of all, it's just plain wrong.

As your Congresswoman, my priority will always be hardworking Oregon families. Too many are still struggling to get ahead. Programs like SNAP are essential for these families.

But I can't do it alone — chip in just by the crucial end-of-May deadline and stand with me.
