seven years
Seven years ago, the world looked a lot different than it does today. After serving in the Oregon House, I was representing Oregon's 17th District in the state Senate.
Then I ran in a special election for the U.S. House of Representatives – and won on January 31, 2012.
It's been seven years, four terms, and three Congressional Committees.
It's hard to explain what these past seven years have meant. There have been high points – like helping to rewrite No Child Left Behind and getting to travel around our beautiful and diverse NW Oregon. But we've also had numerous challenges, especially in the past two years since Trump's election. Through it all, I remain honored to have earned another term representing Oregon's 1st district.
Thank you for always standing with me,
