More than just PRIDE
As a member of Congress, I serve as an advocate for our community. Right now, our LGBTQ+ community members are under attack. We must come together and heighten awareness and combat hateful and discriminatory policies.
Right now, federal law protects people from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, ability, and veteran status. But there's no federal law barring discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
LGBTQ+ Americans are threatened by unjust firings, evictions, and other discrimination without legal recourse.
What makes matters worse?
The Trump Administration rolled back already-limited protections and introduced harmful policies that further marginalize vulnerable populations nationwide.
Being an ally means more than just showing up for PRIDE. It means standing up and fighting back. Stand with me and sign our petition to tell my colleagues in Congress: Protect LGBTQ+ Americans from discrimination now.
Action is overdue. Thank you for standing with me – and with our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors.
