Health care is a human right
The health care system in this country is broken.
Too many families are forced to choose between putting food on the table and getting preventive health care. Many pharmaceutical companies have increased prices to necessary medications, like insulin, rescue inhalers, and countless other prescriptions. Our most vulnerable populations feel threatened by proposed cuts to Medicaid and Medicare.
But this broken system is also something we can fix. All Americans can and should have access to quality, affordable, care through an expanded and improved Medicare for All. Medicare for All means that everyone receives the benefits they need — regardless of their ability to pay.
- For providers, it reduces administrative expenses—increasing focus on care.
- For patients, it provides universal access to health insurance.
- For the state, it creates greater leverage to negotiate costs of drugs, devices, and other expenses—lowering costs all around.
