the human costs of bureaucracy

It's been 40 years since the Environmental Protection Agency began the process to ban asbestos, a toxic carcinogen, but it's still being used in the United States. More than 60 countries worldwide have banned asbestos – but Americans are still suffering.

This is unjust.

We know asbestos exposure causes disease and death. It's our responsibility to protect American families.

Last month, Senator Merkley and I introduced legislation in the House and Senate to ban the production, importation, sale, and use of asbestos in the United States.

Too many people have suffered and died from exposure to asbestos. Americans cannot continue to pay the price for the EPA's inaction.

More soon,

Suzanne
