Thank a nurse in your life
Today is National Nurses Day, when we show our appreciation for the heroic, and often overlooked, work that nurses do.
We trust nurses with the health of our loved ones and ourselves – at the most vulnerable times in our lives. And day after day, they work tirelessly to provide the care we need with professionalism, respect, and compassion.
Because the work of nurses is so important, I've introduced legislation to give nurses a meaningful voice in staffing decisions, improving care for patients, and safety and working conditions on the job. And I also support workforce development for the profession – which is critical for current nurses and for the next generation.
Providing access to quality, affordable health care for every American should be our nation's top priority – and that includes supporting the people who provide that care at every level.
Today, please join me in thanking the nurses in your life for the incredible contributions they make to health care and to the lives of everyone in our communities and our country.
Thank you for standing with me, and with nurses,
Suzanne
