Our National Parks: earthquakes, chemicals, toxic water, polluted air.
In NW Oregon, we can see how a healthy environment matters to our industries. Coastal fisheries, forestation, agriculture, and the movement of cargo through the Willamette river – all rely on the natural resources in our region.
Right now, there is a threat on the horizon. Trump's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is working to open up more than a million acres of land outside California national parks for fracking. If this land isn't protected from fracking, then no place in our country is safe.
There are just 45 days to submit public comments against this plan. ACT NOW: sign our petition and tell Trump's Bureau of Land Management: No fracking near National Parks.
We know the environmental costs of fracking: risks of toxic drinking water, more air pollution, human-caused earthquakes, and increased exposure to chemicals that harm children and infants. We cannot allow this to continue.
