These students are leading the nation

Last week, students and young people inspired millions of Americans and people around the world to participate in the global Climate Strike and countless more are striking again today. I was fortunate to catch up with a few young activists.

Their commitment, energy, and earnest belief that we can combat climate change if we take bold action inspires me to keep fighting. Because they're right. We must take action and we must do it soon.

I am honored to serve on the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, and I'm a co-sponsor of the Green New Deal. I'm calling on Congress to pass real, meaningful legislation to address the climate crisis on behalf of the young activists, the next generation, and generations to come.

If you participated in the Climate Strike, thank you for your leadership and advocacy. I stand with you.
