The United States Postal Service is critical
The United States Postal Service is critical – especially in a time of physical distancing. We know that USPS postal workers are a lifeline for people from coast to coast, and especially important to seniors, veterans, and people who live in rural areas.
Yet GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the Trump administration want to fast-track privatization of the Postal Service, putting half a million Americans out of work and giving more money to private corporations.
Under normal circumstances, this would be a major disruption to our country. In a global health crisis, this would be catastrophic. We count on the mail to deliver lifesaving medication to those who need it, to bring supplies to hospitals, to keep commerce alive during the pandemic, and to safeguard our democracy by distributing vote-by-mail ballots.
We can't allow this to happen.
