After Election Day
It has been an honor to represent NW Oregon in Congress for the past eight years. With your support, I've been able to accomplish a lot - especially during the last two years.
- I held the Trump administration accountable. We passed the toughest anti-corruption and election protection legislation in a generation. We investigated the administration. We called out the President's self-dealing and falsehoods. And the House impeached Donald Trump.
- I fought to address climate change. Despite Donald Trump's anti-science beliefs and actions, the House passed bills I led on clean energy, ocean health, and more. And I repeatedly stood up against Trump's anti-environment appointees.
- I protected health care. By winning a majority in the House in 2018, Democrats created a first line of defense against Donald Trump's cruel attempts to overturn the Affordable Care Act and strip care from the sick and vulnerable—especially important during a pandemic.
With the pandemic, the tough economy, and Donald Trump's constant attacks on our values, it has been a challenging four years for Oregon and the country. But if we work hard up to and through Election Day, the future will be bright.
In the next two years we will focus on recovery and putting plans into action. We will undo the damage caused by the Trump administration and move forward with a progressive vision for our future. If I am honored with re-election, my goals will be:
- Rebuilding an economy that works for everyone;
- Bold climate action, finally;
- Quality public education for all students, early childhood through college;
- Infrastructure investments to get people back to work and make our communities safer and more resilient; and
- Expanding access to affordable health care, including lowering the cost of prescription drugs.
Let's do this together. Let's make 2020 the year of progressive change for America. And let's create a better future for all.
I respectfully ask for your vote and for your support.
