Remember when Donald Trump kept declaring it was "infrastructure week"? His inability to make progress became a late-night punchline.

But the state of infrastructure in our country is no joke. Earlier this year, the American Society of Civil Engineers gave our national system a grade of C-.

And now, with President Biden's leadership, we got it done. On Friday, I helped the House pass a bipartisan infrastructure bill. It's a huge investment in America's future.

There are many things in this infrastructure package to help families and businesses in Oregon and across the country; here are a few:

✅ Critical upgrades to roads, highways, bridges, ports, and airports

✅ Removal of lead pipes from water systems

✅ The largest investment in public transit and rail in our nation's history!

✅ More electric vehicle infrastructure and zero/low emissions bus fleets

✅ Major expansion of broadband

Next up, we'll pass the Build Back Better plan to provide universal pre-K, affordable child care, meaningful policies to address climate change, workforce funding, and more.

Our work will help millions of people get living-wage jobs, bring our transportation system into the 21st Century, reduce harmful carbon emissions, and deliver transformational change for our communities. I'm ready to Build Back Better!
