Extremist Republicans could win in Oregon. Join the movement to stop them.

I need to share an important election update with you.

The Oregon governor's race is now a toss-up between progressive Democrat Tina Kotek and right-wing Republican Christine Drazan.

With an unaffiliated candidate in the race, it's very possible that Drazan could win with a slim plurality of votes.

For the first time in 36 years, Oregon could have a Republican governor. And not just any Republican. Drazan is a right-wing, anti-choice extremist.

Here's why this election is so important:

• Abortion rights are at stake. Drazan will undoubtedly make it more difficult to get an abortion in Oregon by appointing anti-choice judges and leaders and vetoing any bills that would protect or expand reproductive health care. Her closest allies are pushing for abortion bans. Tina Kotek passed the most comprehensive reproductive rights protections in the nation right here in Oregon. She's the only candidate endorsed by Planned Parenthood. As governor, Tina will protect reproductive freedom.
• The climate crisis is an existential threat. Drazan would do little to combat the climate crisis. Tina Kotek has helped create and pass legislation that has successfully reduced greenhouse gas emissions, while Drazan voted against the 100% Clean Energy for All law. Tina will continue to advance good climate policy as governor.
• Public schools are under attack. Drazan repeats the right-wing culture war talking points and offers no real solutions to improve Oregon's public schools. Tina Kotek helped pass landmark legislation to help fund Oregon schools. She will focus on raising Oregon's graduation rates for all student groups and accelerate career and technical education opportunities. Tina has real solutions for our public schools.
