A better future
In my family, Halloween has always been all about the children. When my kids were younger, we would take them trick-or-treating – even in the rain – to see neighbors and friends. Now I look forward to seeing what superheroes are making a comeback as the next generation of children make their way around the neighborhood.
Seeing all these children also reminds me why I first ran for office and why I work so hard in Congress for a better future:
A better future means affordable early childhood education, a system of k-12 public education in which every one of these sweet faces gets a well-rounded education in small classes, and affordable college or trade options.
A better future means taking bold action on climate because all children deserve to grow up in a habitable world, here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and around the globe.
A better future means reproductive freedom – because everyone should grow up with the right to control their own bodies.
And importantly, a better future means protecting democracy – because our children deserve a country where every voice is heard and everyone matters.
Thank you for standing with me for a better future, and a Happy Halloween to all!
