We need a Congress that makes the environment a priority
A few weeks ago, the east coast, including Washington, D.C., had some of the worst air quality on the planet. The skies transformed from blue to a dystopian orange as wildfire smoke swept down from Canada. It became harder and harder to see and breathe.
Because I'm from Northwest Oregon, I've already experienced the dangers of wildfires and wildfire smoke. With our hot, dry summers, wildfires are a constant summer worry.
Climate change is exacerbating the raging wildfires and smoke pollution, a stark reminder that the climate crisis is here now.
We need a strong majority in Congress who is willing to fight for our planet and for future generations with big, bold change. This means we must work together.
Will you join our movement for the planet by donating today before our end-of-quarter deadline?
During their time in the majority, Congressional Republicans have shown a dangerous disregard for climate policy and investments. For example, they completely shut down the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.
As climate emergencies become more frequent, I hope Republicans will open their eyes to the magnitude of this crisis.
But we don't have time to wait.
We need a Congress that will take action to address the growing threat of climate change, support green energy jobs, and protect the environment now.
Please chip in and help secure a House majority with leaders who will fight for our planet.
Thank you for standing with me,
Suzanne
