We are on a dangerous path
House Republicans have caved to MAGA extremism.
Throughout the excruciatingly long Speaker debacle, they repeatedly and unapologetically aligned themselves with the extreme MAGA right.
Democrats proposed sensible bipartisan solutions, but House Republicans rejected anything supported by our side of the aisle. Even worse, the twice-impeached, indicted ex-president Trump continues to pull the strings – Republicans quickly withdrew support from any Speaker candidate he did not support.
When they finally came to an agreement, they unanimously chose one of the most extreme members of their own caucus – an anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ+, climate skeptic who played a key role in the effort to overturn the 2020 election.
We desperately need a strong Democratic majority in the House. It's not going to be easy, and we can't be complacent.
There is now an election denier leading the House, and his Republican colleagues appear to be falling lockstep behind him. As long as Republicans refuse to stand up against the extremism in their party, the House will continue to be in chaos.
The 2024 election will be critical.
Our movement is powerful, and together, we can stop extremism.
Thank you for standing with me,
