Join me in supporting Urban Gleaners

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for here in Oregon—strong reproductive freedoms, an effective vote by mail system, and leaders in Salem who are fighting for progressive legislation that will improve the lives of Oregonians.

But there are still too many people who are struggling to make ends meet. In fact, 1 in 5 of our neighbors deal with food insecurity.

It's Giving Tuesday, and I hope you will consider making a donation to support Urban Gleaners, an organization in Portland that connects families with the food assistance they need.

Urban Gleaners picks up donated food from restaurants, grocery stores, corporate campuses, colleges, farms, and wholesalers – items that would otherwise end up in landfills. They inspect and sort it into family-sized portions of nutritious foods to send to local schools and neighborhoods in need. Plus, any food that is expired or in bad shape gets sent to nearby farms to be used as livestock feed.
