Project 2025’s plans for Social Security

Since 1935, Social Security has been a lifeline for seniors, Americans with disabilities, and survivors of deceased parents or spouses. Elon Musk and DOGE are now a serious threat to its existence.

For decades, workers have paid into the Social Security system and earned their benefits through years of hard work. But under Trump and Musk's Project 2025 plan, all that could change.

Make no mistake: they want to defund Social Security so they can cut taxes for their wealthy friends.

There is news of planned staffing cuts, offices being closed, and even cutting off their toll-free phone line.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are trying to starve federal agencies until they can no longer function. For the Social Security Administration, that will mean long wait times, processing delays, and even delays or denials of checks.

They may try to justify it by calling it an effort to stop waste or mismanagement, but what they are doing will keep eligible Americans from receiving their earned Social Security benefits. They are not entitlements; they are earned benefits, and I will fight to protect them.

All Americans deserve to lead healthy, secure, and dignified lives in their later years.
