Here’s what people tell me:

Democrats won some major victories earlier this month. I was thrilled to see my former colleagues Abigal Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill win their gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, and there was strong support up and down the ballot for progressive leaders like Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani in New York City.

It's clear from the people I speak with – and from the voters who showed up across the country a few weeks ago – that they're ready for change.

Here's what my constituents want:

• An end to the kidnapping and abuse by ICE agents;
• No more military troops on our streets and in our cities;
• Protected, strengthened, and solvent Social Security;
• A strong system of public education and good public schools;
• Affordable, accessible health insurance.

The best way to flip the House so Mike Johnson is never Speaker again is for everyone to pitch in. Let's finish this month of Democratic wins in the strongest position possible.
