Slush fund blocked – for now

Donald Trump's Department of Justice had plans to funnel $1.8 billion of your taxpayer dollars into a slush fund for January 6 insurrectionists, rioters, and Trump's family and close political allies.

But we didn't stand for it. After the details came out, Oregonians and Americans were outraged. The case went to court, and a federal judge blocked the fund temporarily. When Senators and Representatives on both sides of the aisle expressed their opposition, the administration announced that they are dropping this illegal and immoral plan – for now.

This happened because people, regardless of party, spoke out against the slush fund. Cracks are starting to appear. Let's keep up the pressure!

We need leaders who will put the interests of the American people first and focus on lowering costs, not giving special treatment to their criminal friends.
